Au Pair UK
Type of job	Helping to look after the children, preparing breakfast and light meals, helping with washing ironing, making children’s beds and tidying the children’s rooms, hoovering, mopping the kitchen floor and emptying dishwasher. Housework should not exceed one hour to one and a half hours per day maximum.
Salary (other benefits)	65-70 GBP a week for 20 – 25 hours

Families that invite foreign au-pairs into their home are expected to treat them as they would the son or daughter of a family friend, and to provide them with accommodation, food, pocket money and an opportunity to improve their knowledge of the language of the country. It is an ideal way for au-pairs to learn the language and way of life but it is important for them to try to adapt to the families’ ways of life.

Placement details

The participant should commit to 20 – 25 hours/ week (5 hours/day on average), usually have 2 free days per week, , whenever possible, the weekend.

For the duration of the placement you will help the family look after the children and do some housekeeping:
