How to Apply for a Programme

1. Participants fill in the enrolment form and send it to Global Choices along with a CV;
2. Global Choices requests a motivational letter in Portuguese from the participant describing previous work experience, what is hoped to be achieved from the practical training, in addition to a copy of the student’s passport. Non European Community participants need a STUDY VISA issued by the Portuguese Consulate in order to take part in the practical training period;
3. Participants must pay a deposit of € 200 and send a copy of the payment slip to Global Choices. This amount will be deducted from the final invoice amount to be paid before the work placement programme begins;
4. Global Choices confirms the reservation and sends the corresponding invoice to the participant.

Candidates are welcome to apply year-round. You should apply at least eight weeks before your planned departure date.

Eligibility

• Participants must be between 18 and 35 years old;
• Previous experience is not necessary, but some hotels may give preference to participants who have already worked in the tourist industry;
• Participants are expected to be motivated, independent, flexible and open-minded;
• Speak Portuguese. If you do not speak Portuguese, you need to take a 2 or 4 weeks language course before commencing the practical training period.

Visa For NON EU

For students coming from Non-EU countries or those who would normally require a visa to go to Portugal, it is extremely important that they have a full student visa. To obtain this they must:

• Take a minimum of 2 weeks language course with this programme;
• Obtain a letter from their university, college or place of work stating that this training is an integral and essential element of their educational or training programme. Please check all visa requirements with the Portuguese Consulate in the participant’s country.
